Objective: Locate organs of the circulatory system.
Pulmonary Circuit and Surface Anatomy of the Heart
The aorta is the largest artery, it carries blood from the left ventricle to the rest of the body, excluding the lungs. The aorta is the largest artery in the arterial system. The pulmonary artery carries blood from the right ventricle to the lungs. The right atrium is one of the fourth chambers of the heart, located on the upper right of the heart, it receives blood from the venae cavae and coronary sinus. The left atrium is one of the fourth chambers of the heart, located on the upper left. It transports blood to other parts of the blood and holds blood returning from the lungs. The right ventricle pumps oxygen-depleted blood to the lungs, it is one of the heart's four chambers and is located in the bottom right of the heart. Coronary arteries supply blood rich in oxygen to the heart. The left ventricle is one of the four chambers of the heart, located on the bottom left; it receives blood from the left artery and transports it through the aorta to the body.
